Respectus was born out of a community response to services being overwhelmed in providing women and children at risk of or experiencing homelessness*.
As a trusted charitable organization founded in 2016, we work with community sector partners to drive projects and source accommodation needs.
Our aim is to provide vulnerable women and their children the basic human right of safe and secure accommodation in order for them to achieve their goals and ambitions.

*In this context we use the ABS definition of Homelessness
The ABS statistical definition states that when a person does not have suitable accommodation alternatives they are considered homeless
if their current living arrangement is in a dwelling that is inadequate; or has no tenure, or if their initial tenure is short and not extendable; or
does not allow them to have control of, and access to space for social relations.
